Wind power
Wind power is one of the fastest-growing energy sources in the world, driving the transition to a carbon-free future. As a leading renewable energy producer, Statkraft develops, owns, and operates wind farms to contribute to a reliable renewable energy system.
Statkraft has developed onshore wind power for around 20 years, and is the leading producer in Northern Europe. As of 2023, we operate 96 wind farms, with a total installed capacity of 2,236 MW, producing 4.5 TWh of clean energy annually. This is enough to power hundreds of thousands of homes each year.

Statkraft's investment in wind power
Wind energy has seen significant growth over the past few years, and substantional growth is expected globally. The cost of wind power have dropped and in large parts of the world it is already cheaper to build new wind farms than new gas or coal power plants.
Statkraft will continue to grow into a major developer of onshore wind, and pursue a combined annual delivery rate of 2-2,5 GW from solar, onshore wind and battery storage from 2026 and onwards. As of 2023, 618 MW are under construction.
