Statkraft enters cooperation agreement to attract more data centres to Norway
Statkraft has entered a cooperation with Haugaland Næringspark to attract more data centres to Norway.
The industrial park is centrally located between the cities Stavanger and Bergen in Western Norway and has facilities that should be of interest to both national and international data centre providers.
"The industrial park itself, its municipal owners and the power utility Haugaland Kraft have all been very positive about this project, and we look forward to work together to succeed in attracting this new industry to Norway and Western Norway," says Atle Haga, vice president of Statkraft Data Center Sites and head of the company's initiative to facilitate for the establishing of energy-intensive data centres in Norway.
